The largest heat and hot water supplier, AB Vilniaus šilumos tinklai (Vilnius Heating Networks), signed a cooperation agreement with the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association (LNTPA) on June 7th. This agreement provides an opportunity to develop closer cooperation and facilitates the more efficient implementation of modern technological solutions that promote sustainability and energy efficiency.
Collaboration with LNTPA will make it easier to address emerging issues for developers and offer the most beneficial technical solutions for planned real estate projects. With this information, it will be simpler to integrate heat supply infrastructure into future constructions, ensuring efficient and optimal energy use in new buildings. Additionally, the collaboration will provide an opportunity to implement innovations and develop sustainable projects.
“We believe that this partnership will serve as a gateway to innovation. The implementation of modern and innovative projects requires advance planning, so by collaborating with LNTPA, we can obtain information about upcoming projects and offer our services. One such example is the centralized cooling network that we are developing and proposing to the market,” says Gerimantas Bakanas, the CEO of AB Vilniaus šilumos tinklai.
Furthermore, through collaboration with LNTPA, the company will be able to provide energy-saving recommendations for newly constructed projects. By sharing information, the companies will have the opportunity to coordinate actions regarding the expansion of heat supply networks in the city. This will help ensure that new buildings are properly connected to existing heat supply networks and that new heat supply lines are built where future real estate development intensity is expected.
“The collaboration between businesses and organizations responsible for implementing the city’s engineering infrastructure demonstrates a joint effort to develop the city smartly, leveraging the competencies, experiences, and arguments of both parties. By fostering mutual dialogue, LNTPA and Vilniaus šilumos tinklai are actively seeking innovative solutions for creating an advanced urban engineering environment. This partnership is a strong and long-term step towards realizing a modern Vilnius,” says Mindaugas Statulevičius, the president of the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association.
This partnership provides an opportunity to collectively coordinate the content of relevant legislation, making it easier to develop the latest heating, cooling, and waste heat technologies. Vilniaus šilumos tinklai will have the opportunity to participate in events, training sessions, or seminars dedicated to real estate developers, where they can introduce energy-saving solutions and sustainable heating options.
By sharing information in a cooperative and goodwill manner, common sustainability goals are pursued. The company hopes that this approach will contribute to clean heat supply in the city and reduce CO2 emissions. Collaborating with LNTPA would enable the implementation of heat supply and heating solutions that meet high sustainability, energy-saving, and environmental standards.
Through collaboration with LNTPA, Vilniaus šilumos tinklai aims to purposefully develop the heat supply infrastructure in the city, make more efficient use of energy, and contribute to sustainable urban development.
