The best real estate projects of 2021 in Lithuania were announced and awarded in a solemn ceremony at the renewed Lithuanian National Drama Theatre in Vilnius. Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association (LREDA) and the Academy for Sustainable Development has been organizing the competition “For sustainable development” called Lithuanian Oscar of the real estate for 14 years.
This year, the competition received as many as 29 real estate project applications: 7 residential apartment blocks, 4 residential-commercial sites, 9 commercial real estate projects and 9 applications for the Future Project Prize. The applications were submitted from Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda.
When evaluating the projects participating in this year’s competition, Mindaugas Statulevičius, Head of LREDA and the Chairman of the Commission of the competition “For sustainable development”, was pleased that competitive progress and the need for sustainable development are becoming the daily routine of many Lithuanian real estate developers:
“I am pleased by the qualitative challenges posed by the developers and their successful implementation. I can only hope that these trends will only gain acceleration in the context of sustainable real estate development. Many participants are very serious projects that demonstrated the breakthroughs and resilience to the challenges of the business environment in 2020-2021”, the President of LREDA said.
The participants of the competition were evaluated by a 9-member commission consisting of representatives from the Lithuanian Builders’ Association, banks, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, the Ministry of Environment, Vilnius City Municipality, the Lithuanian Real Estate Development Association and the media.
